Human Trafficking

The Minister of Home Affairs was at Qacha ' sNek  on Friday teaching the people about human trafficking. This is  ongoing campaign  that is expected to be held in  different districts in the country. Good reader, what else can the government do to prevent this danger?

  May show signs of being physically restrained, confinement Or torture. Branding with tattoos of the trafficker’s name or symbol Not having a passport or other forms of I.D. in their possession; Not being allowed to contact family or friends Being controlled by others, driven to and from locations, and escorted at all times what could be another signs dear reader?

  As a Mosotho, I grew up knowing that the child belongs to the village. But now children are victims of trafficking as well. Dear readers,  is it wrong to teach our young brothers and sisters to disagree to be sent by anyone except the close family ?

  The types of physical and psychological abuse human trafficking victims experience often lead to serious mental or emotional health consequences, such as stress disorder, depression,  anxiety etc. Needless to say, The victims often need psychological care as part of comprehensive me,ntal treatment, but some of them don't disclose it so that they can be assisted    What do you think can be done to solve that problem dear reader?  

Dear reader, what could be other causes?

As a result of human trafficking, some victims have babies that they did not plan to have. There is a suggestion that these babies may be raised by the government after their mothers are rescued. Dear reader, what's your take on this?

A Mosotho 👨 who is found guilty because of human trafficking will spend about 50 years in jail. Is this punishment ok dear reader?

America will  donate   $300.000 000 million to  the government of Lesotho, in response to the great progress in fighting human trafficking and the wellness of  Basotho. Dear reader do you think this money will benefit Basotho?

  U nemployment  is the situation where one who is capable of working, actively seeks  work  but is unable to find any.   Due to unemployment, many people become victims of human trafficking, for instance, a Mosotho woman fell into a trap when she was falsely promised a legitimate job in South Africa.  Immediately when she arrived in 🇿🇦,  the man abused her sexually and threatened to kill her when she asked about the job she was promised.  He used the Lady to get money by calling his friends who turned the woman into a sex slave.  How shocking! Now unemployment is increasing at an alarming rate, dear reader do you think we will defeat human trafficking any soon?

Countries are fighting tirelessly to end human trafficking. On the 13th January 2022. Honourable minister Motlalentoa Letsosa together with principal secretary of social development Mrs 'Mantseki Mphalane, welcomed a  mosotho woman who was trafficked in 2019.  Dear readers, do you think Lesotho is doing enough to fight human trafficking?

      When l was a little girl, pastors were trusted and respected by people.  I was listening to the 📻, my heart skipped a beat when l heard that a Zimbabwe man who called himself a   pastor, took several girls👯  from Lesotho, and turned them into sex slaves when they reached South Africa. Similarly, a  Mosotho girl who was now a Muslim,🧕 was promised a better job far outside her country by the pastors of the church that she attended, but it was discovered later that she was about to be trafficked. Dear readers, we must be super careful because gone are the days when we used to say pastors are messages of God .                       Qaphela !

Human Trafficking is not only a crime, it is also a gross violation of human rights. Traffickers treat trafficked people badly, for instance, when people are trafficked they are not, allowed to move freely and work where and for whom they want to. Dear viewers what else can be caused by human trafficking?

  In  2015 , the Lady met  someone for the first time on Facebook they became friends. 👫They agreed to meet at one of the hotels in South Africa. After some time, her family reported her at police station that she is missing.  It was in 2020 when she was found telling us a shocking story.   Dear viewers, can we say social media platforms play any role in human trafficking or not?

 Human Trafficking    is a trade of humans for the purpose of forced labour, sexual slavery and the likes.   Research shows that millions of men and women are trafficked worldwide. Poverty is among the causes of human trafficking,   Dear viewers, which advice can you give to our fellow people before agreeing to jobs that are offered to them, especially by strangers?💁🏼‍♀️
